LA CRUZ VINEYARD
2016 PINOT NOIR, SONOMA COAST
Cold and windy environs within close proximity of Tomales Bay and the southern tip of the Sonoma Coast. Vineyard soils composed of black, fractured adobe clay born from the San Pablo Bay seabed. La Cruz slowly ripens tiny clusters and berries with thick skins. A perfect place for Pinot Noir of structure and nuance.
Garnet color. A seductive mélange of spice and fruit. Heady pluot, sage, black tea and subtle blueberry aromatics. The firm mid-palette is replete with plum skin, tarragon, and cherry pits. Savory tannins linger on the finish highlighting blackberry, coriander, and dark chocolate notes.
